Grateful, Thankful, Blessed.

Happy Thanksgiving!  We are excited at the Brown Household for Thanksgiving!  I want to equip and empower you to celebrate the holiday with intention and an attitude of gratitude before you pass the mashed potatoes.  I hope that you are able to put your Christmas Shopping, Black Friday to do list on hold and take some time to be GRATEFUL, THANKFUL AND BLESSED.

In order to get your mindset where it needs to be, we must start with prayer and meditation.  This Thanksgiving yoga flow video by Caroline Williams is just what I needed this week to keep my mind on the blessings in my life.  Schedule a rest day from your workouts and do this yoga practice.  You will be blessed.

If you need to workout to burn off that pumpkin pie, is a really great Thanksgiving Workout to do at home with minimal equipment needed!

Another great way to be intentional with your heart and mind this next week is by spending time with God.  Here is a prayer for today and a few scripture I love to help keep me settle when my to do list is long and my I am feeling weary.

“Lord, help me to enjoy this holiday and count all my blessings.  Father God, help me to go into Thanksgiving with peace and joy, and rid myself of the to do’s that are weighing on my mind.  I am grateful for the food I am able to prepare, serve and eat and will do so without guilt or shame.  God help to rest and relax this holiday, feeling a sense of renewal.  Help me to have the motivation to get back on track Friday (or Saturday, however your celebration falls).  Thank you God for what this holiday means to my family, my community, my country.  I am blessed beyond measure, at to that I am grateful.  Amen.”

Lastly, I shared last week on my Facebook Page some of my very favorite healthy recipes for Thanksgiving… the links are listed below.  Add them to your menu, keep yourself on track, and enjoy!
